Tiffiney Photoblog

So glad you're here, and you've probably come because you love photography as much as I do! A little about me...obviously I photograph primarly weddings and babies. For me it's a healthy mix. As for my photography, I'm honestly just following the call that God has placed on my life and feel so blessed to be able to do what I love.

My husband and I just had our first baby born at 25 weeks, on the 4th of July. She is a complete miracle and we are blessed to still have her with us. This blog has become a mix of her story and my studio's story. I hope in some way you find hope from our journey and inspiration from the photographs.

You can find Sadie's story by using the category link above. Be sure to grab some tissue!

If you would like to contact me regarding photography for your special beginning you can call me at the studio 864.647.2400 or use the contact form here on the blog.

I hold seasonal blog contests so be sure to visit often. Fall/Winter contest and Summer contest winner announced here.

Inspiration: After many hours of sleepless nights thinking about this project it’s hard to believe that it is finally coming together! After our situation with Sadie Mae I was prompted in my heart to do something to give back. Not knowing exactly what that was, and still sort of not knowing, I thought better to do something than to do nothing at all. My first thought was a charity event to give back to the March of Dimes which is a great organization that works very hard to prevent premature births. I still plan to support this group and/or our local NICU later this year…but for this project I had an itch to give closer to home.

Charity Details: So the recipient of our Angel’s Among Us proceeds will be our local pregnancy care center. It was an easy decision to support the center because they stand for everything that I stand for, life. Seeing Sadie Mae born at 25 weeks almost formless, yet completely a being, grow into a sweet baby who smiles and coos, you can’t help but to know deep in your heart that all life is precious.

Celebrate with us, your child’s life, while helping others. To book a session call 864.647.2400 or email info@tiffineyphotography.com

More angel example shoots to be posted this week. Boys are welcomed too!

Tiffiney - i have an outfit, but some kids might not like the way it feels on...if they're not used to "dance" tight outfits they may not. so i'm suggesting all bring a cami (thin strapped) top, in white or a very soft color. if you don't have a cami top any dress or shirt with a thin strap will work. i need as much skin showing as possible, keeping the focus on the highlights of the face and wings. i'd love for emma to join us!

Nicole Smith - I would love for Emma to do this! what would I need to get emma to wear? what type of cami or something else? I will call you to set up a time.

Tiffiney - Would love for you guys to join us...Faith and Jenn! What to wear?...I have it all. :) If you have a white cami top or tube top you can bring it, just in case what I have doesn't work. You can also add some makeup before you come or we can do it when you get to the studio. It doesn't need to be much, just highlighting the eyes and cheeks and some gloss. I do a bit of makeup enhancement digitally, but it's much easier if there's a bit there to start with. AND boys are welcomed! I'll be posting some boy angels later this week, first of next.

Faith Davis - Tiffiney- I think I would like to do this with Wren...I have to check with Jeremy- but what would she need to wear?

Jennifer - Molly such a sweetie! I definitely want Miss Hannah Rose involved!!!! Sounds great!

Tiffiney - woohoo! sounds great! would love for the gals to join us.

Heather F. - These are beautiful. Can't believe how big Molly is getting. I def. want a session. I will be calling!

Monkey-ing Around!

Finally! The stars aligned…I have something to post (besides my sweet baby) and my blog is working! This little girl got her tickle box turned over at the end of the session. All she wanted to do was monkey around, and she was OH so cute. Good thing mommy and daddy chose a collection and they get them all…cause she’s just too cute to pick just one! This last one…one of my favs. Think it’s because it reminds me of Sadie Mae. She is loving her hands about now, chews them all the time.

Calling All Homemakers!

Ok. So some of you guys are REALLY crafty,  have great imaginations and do some really CUTE stuff…I KNOW, you’ve given me some great baby items as shower gifts! As I reorganize the studio I’m trying to make space for baby gifts, making a little gift shop of sorts with sweet baby stuff that you CAN’T get at Walmart!

For example, homemade dresses (and/boy outfits), diaper bags, bow hangers, wipe boxes, hairbows, knitted items, frames etc. etc. This will not be a high volume thing…as a matter of fact depending on your product I’d like to start out with 5 or 10…smaller products like hairbows, maybe more.

If you have such a talent and would like to put some things in the studio for sale email or message me a pic of your item, if I haven’t seen it already. I need good quality stuff that’s homemade and unique. I may request to see your item in person.

I’m also looking for partners on a very special charity project, Angels Among Us. Partners to fill gift baskets that will be for children. If you have a business or items you would like to contribute, message me for more details!

BTW, I’ve said it lots but I’m about to launch the Angels Among Us project…keep your ears open!

Sadie Mae | 6 months

No weekend would be complete without a little Sadie Mae love…for those of you on facebook this is old news. However, I know some of you who read the blog aren’t facebookers so here we go.

Sweet Sadie Mae at 6 months weighing 11lbs, posing in her crib. She’s still not rolling over or sitting up on her own, but she for sure is getting sweeter and sweeter. Her tummy issues have pretty much worked their way out thanks to soy and a little karo syrup every now and again which makes for a much happier baby…unless she’s fighting sleep. Can’t blame her for fighting, that is most likely what kept her alive at such an early arrival!Oh and what about those warm days we had last week! So nice! Made me wish for summertime. We are REALLY tired of being stuck in the house so much. Thanks to the warmth we got the chance to try out Sadie Mae’s new tree swing. She really liked it, but wasn’t too sure about the bright light and bit of wind. This didn’t last long but was sure cute while it did!Her new sassy look, the middle pic, my favorite. So much a favorite I turned it b/w and printed it big for our room…been waiting on some sweet b/w to dress up some shelves in our room, this is a great start. Look at this face! Her model pucker and smiling with her eyes. She’s been watching too much America’s Next Top Model with her mommy…I watch it for the photo shoots, promise.

Tonya - These are so precious!!! Love the black/white ones.

Angie Smith - Tiff these are BEAUTIFUL. She is such a sweetie! Can't wait to keep her again....hugs

Nicole Smith - Absolutely precious!!! Love the black and white picture!

Jennifer - Awwwwww she is precious!!!! I think my favorite is the b/w pics also! I hope I get to meet Miss thang soon!!! xoxoxo

Alison - Ha! Think they would be embarrassed if they knew we were already having these conversations?!

Tiffiney - he's got to get pass daddy addis first! ha! ...no worries tho, i'll sneak her out for him. :)

Alison - Glad my son has such a cute girlfriend!:)

Elizabeth & Scott | Engaged

Better late than never! I had this blog ready to post weeks ago, until my blog freaked out…anywho…

Oooh this day was cold but sooo beautiful. I absolutely LOVE photographing in the South. Southerners are so completely awesome. They’re the type of people who you can meet for the first time and feel like you’ve known each other forever. That was these two. Such a fun couple to photograph. Happy engagement guys! Looking forward to your celebration in Jacksonville!!!

Alison - Looking forward to working with you in Jax! Fun times!!

Blog Issues

Yep so I recently upgraded my blog…and what could that mean, but trouble! Hate it when update time rolls around. Anyway, I’ve been having blog issues since. Now I’m unable to upload photos. Boo! Anyway, I’m in the process of figuring things out, so hopefully the blog will be back on strong in a few days.

Lots has been going on, I for sure HAD lots to blog. Oh well!

Lots of great things coming up for the studio this year. A VERY special project I mentioned earlier called “Angels Among Us” is about to be announced. I’ve also…or I’m in the process of…updating the physical studio. Changing the colors all around to match my logo, yummy! Even having my logo graphic printed for the wall. Fun!

Just got back from the National Professional Photographers convention in Nashville where I picked up a new clothing prop that is cute as pie…and I promise one of a kind! You’ll see it soon. Also, got lots of great ideas that I hope to implement this year or next. BUT the best part of the trip was of course meeting Ricky Skaggs. Could NOT believe I cried after I had my pic made with him. It wasn’t the ugly cry but I was teary eyed for sure. I LOVE bluegrass. Some of you remember that bluegrass was the main music at our mountain top wedding. It just meant so much for me to meet someone that I consider a legend, someone who truly has a beautiful spirit.

More to come soon…I hope…

Happy New Year

Ringing in the new year with a scream around here!img_0205-3

She’s such a drama queen. Who could she possibly get that from?! Oh but she has a sweet side…I’m claiming this one as a mommy trait…img_0219-4

Hope you all had fun celebrating the new year with family and friends. We were able to ring in 20-10 with my grandparents, an annual tradition. Yes, it was the hunt camp tradition. The hubster killed a buck AND doe, no joke, (no picture posted b/c it’s gross!) in the last 30 minutes of light, on the last day of the hunting season. Whew, talk about cutting it close! We needed the extra meat, one little ole deer wasn’t going to get us through til next season. Yes, and that thing still on the 2009 to do list…upload the hunting video we made, yes I’m reminded. Gosh gotta get that done this week. It’s a good laugh!

No hunting for me this year. I was in the kitchen with Nana cooking which I LOVE to do. However, I did miss going out with Scott, it’s quite fun to do things together like that, to enjoy your husband’s hobby…or rather to enjoy, him enjoying, you enjoying, his hobby. K. So that was a bit confusing but you get my drift.

Happy 20-10!

Tiffiney - ha!ha! you're funny... :)

Brianna - Hate to tell you Tiff but the first pic is the first time I've seen her looking like you! Ha!

Jennifer - The one with her crying is sooo sad but so cute all at the same time! :) She is a definite cutie pie:) Love all the pics!!!

From Our Home To Yours…
